03 / ABOUT HATHAWAY

Home is the
common ground.

Hathaway is a game-table brand in the Blue Wave Products range. Its billiards selection includes portable tables and combinations built around shared rooms.

These four models use engineered wood or MDF construction. The choice is practical: storage, a second game, dining use or a built-in ball return.

MDF

Look beneath the felt.

Fairmont, Newport and Hustler specify MDF playfields. These are non-slate tables; felt color alone says nothing about the material underneath.

6 ≠ 6

Compare actual dimensions.

Both Fairmont and Spartan are called 6-foot tables. Their footprints and playing areas are different. Check both measurements before choosing.

05 / BEFORE THE FIRST BREAK

A little planning.
More room to play.

Measure the playing area, allow room for the cue, then check how the table fits into daily life.

ROOM PLANNING / STARTING ESTIMATE

15′ 0″ × 12′ 3″

Playing area + two cue lengths. A starting estimate, before backswing allowance, furniture and obstructions. Selected cue length does not identify the included cues.

Is the advertised size the playing area?

No. For example, Fairmont has a 76 × 43.25-inch footprint and a 66 × 33-inch playing surface. Leave additional clear space around the playing surface for the cue and stroke.

Which of these tables folds?

Fairmont has folding steel legs. Spartan, Newport and Hustler have stationary frames. Removing a conversion top does not make the table itself foldable.

Are these slate pool tables?

No. Fairmont, Newport and Hustler specify MDF playfields. Spartan is an engineered-wood table. Compare construction by the exact model rather than the finish or cloth color.

Which tables include another game?

Spartan includes a removable table tennis top. Newport includes a reversible dining/table tennis top and two storage benches. The Fairmont and Hustler versions shown are pool tables without a conversion top.

What comes with the tables?

All four include pool accessories. Spartan and Newport also include table tennis accessories; Fairmont adds a carry bag. The Fairmont listing gives conflicting cue lengths, so confirm the supplied cue size for the selected version.

How should a table be set up?

Check the selected model’s assembly instructions, level the table, and test clearance on every side. Allow space to remove and store conversion tops on Spartan and Newport, and to move benches on Newport.
